Cricket’s Studio

Hello! My name is Megan, and I love everything associated with fiber: including yarn, fabric, sewing, knitting, and potentially quilting in the near future. I foster cats, climb rocks, love shades of purple, and recently moved to Salt Lake City. I hope to join other artists and makers in markets this year and become a part of this lovely community! Check out some of my items I have made below, including chalk bags for climbing, bandanas I sewed and dyed and block printed, hats, and my one true love: yarn! (see more about my yarn at www.etsy.com/shop/cricketsfibers).

Chalk Bags and Buckets

Above are examples of chalk bags and chalk buckets I have made. The outside is quilted remnant fabric on top of sturdy canvas and lined with a soft fleece. In the future I intend to use patchwork techniques using recycled/thrifted fabrics, and I also plan to create other pouches and baggies using similar bright colors and reused materials.

Block Printed Bandanas

Above are a few examples of block printed bandanas I made from scratch cotton fabric which I cut and hemmed. The base color of the bandanas are dyed by sitting in the same dye pots as my hand dyed yarn. I also have so much fun hand carving stamps with little symbols that inspire me. I also plan to create other block printed goodies, including postcards, tote bags, greeting cards, tea towels and napkins.

Hand Made Hats!!!

Above are a few examples of 5 panel hats I have sewn. I am working on perfecting the fit of these, and also would like to venture into bucket hats! I use fun, funky cotton as well as fabric found & salvaged from second hand stores.

Cricket’s Fibers Yarn!

Cricket’s Fibers has been my passion for the past 2ish years. I have been knitting my whole life! I love knitting with yarn that is bright, colorful and saturated, so I decided to create my own and share it with other knitters, crocheters and crafters around the country. Check my yarn out at my etsy! https://www.etsy.com/shop/cricketsfibers
